Ace Tone FM-2 Fuzz Master

Ace Tone FM-2 Fuzz Master

Rare late sixties (or possibly 1970) Japanese Fuzz monster – an Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2 for sale in excellent condition and working order.

NOTE: We currently also have an Ace Tone FM-3 for sale.

With a pitch-doubling circuit before the diode clipping fuzz, this generates those superb thick gnarly octave rich fuzz tones. Very reminisicient of the Univox Super-Fuzz, Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz, etc. The sound is what counts: it's basically two very different shades of monstrous filth - ripping chainsaw fuzz or brutal octave-ish wildness.

Good info here on the EffectsFreak FM-2 Fuzz Master page.

And also here on the Retro Tone Junkie FM-2 Fuzz Master page.

This Youtube demo really nails the sound (with thanks to the uploader):

For sale serviced and working well. Condition is very clean with just a couple of scuffs to the finish.

For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.

This pedal is in good working order - no crackly pots or noisy switch issues.

(Please note: it is always possible with vintage equipment that some crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used - even during shipping - this can usually be easily rectified either by use or with a bit of switch-cleaning spray).

Fitted with a battery and ready to play.
