Yamaha CS-80 (Broker Sale - Japan)

Yamaha CS-80 Legendary Vintage Analogue Polysynth for sale.

New broker instruction. Please read the following paragraphs carefully and ask any questions before proceeding.

Please note that this synth is shipping from Japan - we will organise crating and shipping at the buyer's cost - any import fees/taxes will be the responsibility of the buyer.

It is currently functional and in regular use in the owner's studio - he's advised that one voice needs some work - but given the complexity and nature of a CS-80, we'd not sell one without advising that the buyer must expect to have it serviced and calibrated following delivery. Servicing a CS-80 is not a trivial matter and the buyer should have access to an experienced tech - we'd advise discussing this with your tech before proceeding.

Many CS-80s are advertised for sale without full disclosure and at prices that do not reflect the level of work they can require. We do not wish to be part of this so I advised the seller that we'd assist as long as the price was reasonable.

This synth presents well, but the tolex case has some scuffs, tears and damage and no lid, legs or pedals are supplied with the synth.

The Yamaha CS-80 is one of the most iconic analogue polysynths of all time. Released in 1977 and made famous especially by Vangelis - used on the iconic and wonderful Blade Runner film soundtrack, which showcased its rich, powerful symphonic textures, lush sweeping analogue filters and expressive polyphonic aftertouch.

A favourite of Stevie Wonder, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Toto amongst many others (Paul McCartney, Kate Bush) the CS-80 remains highly sought-after for serious players and collectors.
