Yamaha Ensemble Mixer EM-90A

Yamaha Ensemble Mixer EM-90A

A genuine piece of music technology history from the 70s - and very high tech at the time: a PA mixer from Yamaha with built in spring reverb and analogue beatbox.

Having had it on our list for ages we finally took these photos and then someone promptly bought it. However, as a real curiosity we decided to put it up on here anyway. The basic spec is below, but first this original advert unearthed by the always superb Preservation Sound (for the first version of the EM-90) really explains it better than we can:

Spec:

  • Six channels with 1/4'' inputs on the front
  • Line, Guitar, Mic switch for each channel
  • Treble, Bass, Volume and a reverb switch for each channel as well.
  • A, B, Speaker mute button for each channel
  • Built in Drum Machine With the following patterns: March, Waltz, Swing, Slow Rock, Jazz Rock, Rhumba, Bosanova, Tango + Tempo and Volume knob for the Drum machine
